Applying for the CETL Exam

  1. You must be logged into CoSN.org to submit an application. If you are not logged in, please select "login" from the menu above. If you do not have a user account, please see the "How to Apply" page for instructions.
  2. To begin the application process, click the Contribute button at the bottom of this page.
  3. Click Add New located at the top of the registration box.
  4. Hover over Tip Tool to reveal detailed instructions for each field.
  5. Click Save Section to save the information you've just completed.
  6. Click on the next section (sections 1-5 on the left navigation bar) to proceed. You must select "Save Section" before moving to next step.
  7. Click the "Submit" button and proceed to your Shopping Cart. You must pay the application fee to complete the application process. Payment for the exam is required before exam scores will be provided.
Once you have completed all five sections, a Submit button will appear to finalize the process. Click submit. Note: All applicants must agree to abide by the Code of Conduct before submitting their application.

Our next exam administrations are scheduled for June 20, 2012 in Austin, TX and June 24, 2012 in San Diego, CA. Exam applications will be accepted through June 1, 2012.

An email will be sent to your primary email address confirming that your registration has been received. After your application has been submitted and you've completed the payment process, your application will be reviewed for completeness and adherence to CETL eligibility requirements.
Upon approval, you will receive an Authorization To Test letter containing details about the exam.

Eligibility Requirements
All applicants must meet eligibility requirements. To sit for the CETL certification exam you must have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree plus four years of education technology experience. If you do not meet the minimum education and/or work experience requirements please see the "Eligibility Requirements" and "Appeals Process" sections of the CETL Certification Handbook.
