Are Textbooks a Thing of the Past?

Bailey Mitchell brings twenty five years of experience as an educator and has worked for the past thirteen years as the Chief Technology and Information Officer for Forsyth County Schools. He is responsible for both the educational and administrative technology enterprise with a focus on online learning, collaborative classrooms, parent communication and teacher support. Forsyth's technology enterprise is nationally recognized as a leader in educational technology.

 

   

Dr. Greg Davis is the Executive Director of Technology for the Des Moines Public Schools. He has served in this role for the past 14 years. Prior to joining the Des Moines Schools, Greg was an information technology manager in the Maytag Corporation, an international Fortune 250 company. Greg serves on several state and national level technology committees and boards, including CoSNs CTO Council. Greg and his wife Amy have two children and reside in Newton, Iowa.


 

Matt Federoff has been the Chief Information Officer for the Vail (Arizona) School District since 1999. In 2005, Matt worked on the team that opened Empire High School, the first textbook-free school in the nation. He is currently involved in the Beyond Textbooks Initiative, extending the Empire methodology across all grade levels. Matt lives in the wilds of the Empire Mountains with his wife and nine children.
