Role of the Moderator

The Moderator has overall responsibility for the session, including directing content flow and developing continuity, determining presenter order, and keeping presenters to their allotted times. Moderators are also responsible for contacting each of the session presenters to discuss the subject content of his or her presentation, keeping in mind the goals and topical focus for each session.   If your session is assigned a moderator, additional moderator guidelines will be provided to you.

Length of Sessions

Due to the large number of high quality submissions, presentations may be merged and a moderator will be assigned to the session. Moderators are often assigned to a single presentation that consists of more than two speakers.  The length of a session depends on the nature of the discussion, session type and design of the program.  This is at the discretion of the Meetings and Events Committee.  Generally education sessions are either 45-60 minute intervals.
