Frequently Asked Questions
If you know someone who deserves to be recognized for his or her outstanding accomplishments, consider submitting a nomination! Only CoSN members may nominate self or others; non-CoSN members may accept awards. The deadline for all award nominations is November 30, 2012.
Q1: Where will the Awards be presented?
A1: All award winners will be recognized at CoSN's Annual Conference and will receive a complimentary conference registration to attend the full conference. The 2013 event is March 11-13 in San Diego, CA.
Q2: What is the deadline to submit my nomination?
A2: November 30, 2012
Q3: What is the award/prize?
A3: Winners of CoSN awards receive considerable recognition for their leadership. They are honored at the CoSN Annual Conference, highlighted in the media and profiled in Scholastic Administr@tor Magazine. Each honoree also receives a beautiful trophy from CoSN.
The Withrow CTO Award winner receives a complimentary CoSN conference registration, membership (if not already), and a $1000 honorarium to underwrite travel and hotel expenses.
The Team Award winner will receive four complimentary CoSN conference registrations, membership (if not already), and a $1000 honorarium to underwrite travel and hotel expenses.
Q4: Who can submit nominations?
A4: Any CoSN member may submit a nomination. Self-nominations are allowed and encouraged. You may submit one nomination in the Withrow CTO Award and the TEAM award. Current CoSN Board Members (and their institutions) are ineligible for CoSN awards.
Q5: When will the announcement be made?
A5: The winners will be notified in January. Formal announcements of the winners will be made at the CoSN Annual Conference.

Q7: How will my submission be scored?
A7: Scoring is based on how well the applicant meets the criteria established for each award. For the Withrow Award for Educators and the TEAM Award, each of the main five criteria is worth 20 points, for a total of 100 possible points.
