Enabling High-Performing K-12 Learning Environments; Insights from a K-12 on-demand Web Conference
Thumbnail

Classrooms today do not appear much different than they did 100 years ago: A teacher stands in front lecturing or writing on a board; students take notes or fill in a worksheet. Yet students are entering workplaces that require the kinds of critical thinking, collaboration and technology skills unnecessary a century ago. Policymakers believe that states are best positioned to achieve this by developing and implementing various policies impacting the educator workforce. They will also, for the first time on a larger and more visible scale, use student achievement as one of the primary indicators of both educator and program effectiveness.
