According to this article, Missouri, Alaska, Nebraska, Arkansas, Iowa, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Montana, Wyoming, an Idaho rank as the ten states where the Internet it too slow.  It includes stats on each state.  For example, in Idaho the average download speed: 318 KBps, average completion rate: 83 percent, residents per square mile: 18.9 (7th fewest), median income by state: $44,644 (14th lowest).
