Tools and Resources

CoSN recognizes that schools and school districts have varying degress of expertise in network security depending upon size, financial situation or perceived value to the schools. We have developed a planning process to help you determine what your current status is, and help you identify areas of weakness and identify goals to achieve network security.

To help this process, we are providing tools for CoSN members to help school technology leaders analyze their network's current security status against industry best practices, validating what they are doing well and giving them insight into how risk can be further reduced. There are strategies for developing and implementing a cost-effective action plan to strengthen security and handle crises; and  guidance for communicating the importance of security to the school community.
