This brief blog article hits at the heart of dealing with e-waste - how do we know where our old "responsibly recycled" computers are really ending up? "The U.S. alone generated over three million tons of the stuff in 2007, according to the EPA (that’s the most recent estimate). Only 13.6% of it was recycled."
Personal note: This cynic is also skeptical about many e-cycling programs and supports the use of BAN e-Stewards vetted e-waste recyclers.
