| What area of Green Computing does this case study address? |
Energy Use |
| What was the original situation and incented you to take action? |
We knew that our technology resources were very energy intensive and imposed a lot of costs on our organization. We wanted to look at ways that we could economically and proactively reduce our per computer energy footprint. |
| What action did you take? |
We deployed a very "green" fleet of high efficiency power supply HP computers and leveraged nComputing's X300 virtual desktops and have lowered our per computing seat energy costs to under $8 per year in locations where we have deployed X300's. |
| What are the results of these actions to go green? |
We are impacting energy costs positively in our organization. This is especially important as more computing resources are deployed throughout our organization. |
