Keith R. Krueger is CEO of the Consortium for School Networking (CoSN), a nonprofit organization that serves as the voice of K-12 school system technology leaders in North America.  CoSN’s mission is empowering educational leaders to leverage technology to realize engaging learning environments.  

In 2008 he was selected by eSchool News as one of ten people who have had a profound impact on educational technology over the last decade.

He serves on many Advisory Boards including eSchool News, the Education Committee of the National Park System, the American Productivity Quality Council, the Virtual High School Global Consortium, the Friday Institute at NC State University and the Wireless Reach Advisory Board. He is a past Board Member/Treasurer of the National Coalition on Technology in Education & Training (NCTET).  

Keith has a global reputation as a key thought leader and has organized senior level U.S. delegations to visit Australia, Asia, Europe and South America to examine best practice in ICT in education.

As a Certified Association Executive, he has extensive background in nonprofit management and has a Masters from the Humphrey School of Public Affairs at the University of Minnesota.





Irene K. Spero

Irene Spero serves as Chief Operating Officer of the Consortium for School Networking (CoSN).  Ms. Spero received a BA in political science from Bryn Mawr College and an MA in Public Law from Columbia University. She is actively involved in a wide range of community and professional activities in the Washington, DC area and currently serves as the President of NCTET, a professional association of education technology leaders in Washington, DC.

Prior to joining CoSN in 2003, Ms. Spero was the first Executive Director of SchoolTone Alliance, a global consortium of education technology and service provider companies. Ms. Spero served as Director of External Relations at the Web-based Education Commission where she was responsible for directing its outreach efforts, organizing its public hearings and managing its public relations and communications efforts. The Commission submitted its report, The Power of the Internet for Learning: Moving from Promise to Practice, to Congress and the President in December 2000.

Irene worked for 16 years as Executive Director for Federal and State Relations at the College Board.  Based in Washington DC, her primary responsibility was to represent the interests of the association by conducting and directing a comprehensive government relations program at the federal and state level.   As the College Board's representative, she was frequently asked to advise policymakers and comment on issues relating to the transition from secondary to higher education, access and equity issues. In that capacity, she testified before congressional committees and state legislative bodies and appeared at national education association meetings.






Brian Foor

Brian joined CoSN in September 2010 and is responsible for managing the operations of the CoSN website, social media, online marketing communications, the database, and is the CoSN staff photographer. Brian graduated from Radford University with a BFA in Art and recently completed his Master Certificate in Web Design.

Prior to joining CoSN, Brian worked in the stock photography industry for over 9 years, holding an array of positions that included editing, content development, research, client relations, business development, testing and training.






Gayle Dahlman

Gayle Dahlman joined CoSN in December 2010 as the Director of Certification & Education. Gayle is responsible for developing a certification for CTOs based on CoSN’s Framework of Essential Skills of the K-12 CTO. Gayle is also responsible for managing the development of certification preparatory materials.

Gayle brings to the position more than 20 years of expertise in developing and managing projects including managing practice analysis studies for both existing and new certification programs, subject matter expert task force creation and management, benchmarking research studies, online surveys, software implementation and integration projects. In addition she has worked as a writer and editor for a wide variety of print and online projects including website content, certification and recertification handbooks, corporate communications, and marketing collateral.







Ed Gloninger

Ed joined CoSN in April 2011 as Certification Coordinator. With a primary role of supporting CoSN’s efforts to implement an exceptional CTO Certification Program, Ed will also provide general assistance within CoSN’s offices.

Ed joins CoSN with more than 14 years of experience managing and implementing publications and online communications solutions for a wide variety of organizations. Ed will use his background in writing, editing, graphic design, and production management to help further the goals of CoSN’s CTO Certification Program as well as provide general office assistance.





Juliene Heaney

Juliene currently serves as the Senior Director of Conferences & Events for CoSN. Responsible for the logistical planning and execution of several events, Juliene brings an abundance of national event management experience and has worked for national and global organizations in this capacity.

During her career, Juliene has also worked on developing strategic planning initiatives, fundraising and event marketing. Her educational merits include an undergraduate degree from Georgetown University and a master’s degree from the University of South Carolina.






Kevin Wesolowski

Director, Membership and Chapters

Kevin Wesolowski currently serves as the Director of Membership and Chapters at CoSN where he is responsible for all aspects of membership development, recruitment, and retention. As part of these efforts, Kevin is working to cultivate relationships with existing and emerging state chapters in both the US and Canada through strategic outreach and support.  Kevin joined the CoSN team in September 2011.

Prior to joining CoSN, Kevin served as the Chief of Staff at the Partnership for 21st Century Skills. In this role he managed the day-to-day operations, oversaw board activities and processes, and managed P21's financial systems. Prior to this role, Kevin worked on state recruitment and support for the Partnership, including developing and fostering grassroots momentum in potential partner states.

Prior to moving to Washington, D.C., Kevin lived and worked in Western New York where he focused his career on Early Childhood Education. Kevin holds a bachelor’s degree in Applied Linguistics from the University at Buffalo, SUNY. Additional educational experience includes an international study abroad program at the International Christian University (ICU) in Tokyo, Japan.





Shelley Cavanaugh

Shelley Cavanaugh joined CoSN in January 2012 as the Member Services Manager.  While her main role is to provide stellar service to CoSN’s members, she also supports new member recruitment, state chapter activities, manages the Awards and Nominating Committees, and serve as the Board Liaison.  Through her past employment with the United States Chamber of Commerce and Avectra, Shelley has experience in the areas of member services, marketing, and database administration.

Shelley attended the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and focused her studies on Business Administration.  Shelley’s goal is to one day obtain a Masters Degree in Brand Management.  Shelley has received numerous accolades throughout her career for her customer service skills, detail-oriented nature, and commitment to go above and beyond.
