CAOs & Curriculum Directors' Knowledge & Skills
  1. Use Web 2.0 applications and tools. Start by trying some of the Web 2.0 resources in the Explore Web 2.0 section of this Web site to accomplish your own work. Check out some of the Web 2.0 resources for teachers and students. Make a point of using some of these tools when you work with your colleagues. You need to be familiar with these resources to offer sound advice on Web 2.0 to your district leadership team, to work collaboratively on Web 2.0 implementation with district technology leaders, and to provide meaningful guidance on Web 2.0 integration to curriculum specialists and your instructional staff.

  2. Learn how Web 2.0 tools can help your district meet student and teacher needs. Your district has specific educational challenges to address, problems to solve and goals to meet. Use these issues as opportunities to learn how Web 2.0 could be part of comprehensive and strategic efforts to make progress.

  3. Seek out opportunities to discover how educators are using Web 2.0 in innovative ways. Participate in peer groups, content associations and educational technology organizations. Subscribe to blogs by educators. Visit the Web sites of Web 2.0 educational content providers, where you can find instructional resources, lesson plans, and forums for sharing ideas and experiences from communities of educators.
