Six Action Steps for District Technology Leaders


  1. Identify and share best practices in the use of Web 2.0 in education.

  2. Collaborate with the district leadership team to develop a pilot project for exploring and evaluating Web 2.0 to address a specific educational challenge.

  3. Include Web 2.0 considerations and recommendations in all administrative and educational programs, including professional development. 

  4. Reevaluate your district technology plan and infrastructure to make sure you can support Web 2.0 with reliable access to the Internet and computing devices- including smart, mobile devices. 

  5. Support district leaders in examining acceptable use policies to ensure student safety, data security and appropriate access to Web 2.0 resources.

  6. Develop a plan for scaling up the use of Web 2.0 in your district.
