The Award for Excellence in Public Service is given to a public servant for their achievements in promoting the use of information technologies and the Internet to improve K-12 learning. Self-nominations for both awards are encouraged.

CoSN Board Members (and their institutions) are ineligible for all CoSN awards.

This CoSN award is our highest award for elected or appointed national, state, regional or local officials for their achievements in promoting the use of information technologies and the Internet to improve K-12 learning.

Any CoSN voting member may submit nominations for the 2005 Outstanding Achievement Award for Excellence in Public Service. Nominees for the Award for Excellence in Public Service must be either an elected or appointed national, state, regional or local official.

In 500 words or less, describe the leadership that this public servant has taken to advance the strategic use of technology to improve K-12 learning.
