Experience and Educational Background
Lillian Kellogg has dedicated her career to education and technology and has more than 20 years of experience in working with school districts and libraries in the field of educational technology. Before joining ENA, Lillian served as Vice President of Strategic Relations for netTrekker, the trusted search engine for schools. Prior to netTrekker Lillian founded The Peak Group, an industry leading consultancy, that published industry analysis reports on emerging technologies in education such as virtual schools and wireless technologies. Lillian started her career as a high school teacher and has held national positions with education and library market leaders. Due to her industry knowledge and experience, Lillian is recognized an industry leader.

As a prospective member of the CoSN Board of Directors, what do you view as the top three priorities for improving K-12 information technology?

Priority One:
Creating a new vision for K-12 information technology.

Priority Two:
Increasing funding at a state and national level by building awareness of technology's role in teaching and learning 21st century skills.

Priority Three:
Continue to provide thought leadership for educational technology leaders and influencers.

I wish become a member of the CoSN Board of Directors because:
The education industry is a wonderful industry to dedicate one’s career and I have had the good fortune of being able to do just that for over 20 years. Focusing on educational technology since 1984, I have learned many things, but the most important lessons learned were not about technology – they were about the value of advocacy, information and networking. Being a member of the CoSN Board will allow me to significantly contribute to advocacy, information and networking efforts.

If elected, I bring the following skills to the CoSN Board of Directors:
Veteran educational technology experience (20+ years) -I currently serve as the CoSN Marketing and Products Committee co-chair. In that capacity I have learned a lot about CoSN operations and objectives and will be an immediately effective Board member. -I am personally interested in emerging technologies for education and actively follow and analyze industry trends. -I am a strategic thinker who brings a high degree of energy and enthusiasm to projects.

I believe the most important goals for CoSN to achieve as a leading K-12 technology organization are:
As a member of the CoSN Board of Directors I will work to achieve the following goals: -Drive institutional and corporate membership and participation. -Establish strategic partnerships to facilitate CoSN objectives. -Increase the value-proposition of CoSN membership.

Candidate Statement

First, allow me to express my thanks to the Nominations Committee for choosing me as a candidate to serve the CoSN Board of Directors. I am honored and delighted by this opportunity.

Why Choose Lil Kellogg?
Focusing on educational technology since 1984, I have learned many things, but the most important lessons learned were not about technology – they were about the value of advocacy, information and networking. As a Board member I will significantly contribute to new and existing advocacy, information and networking efforts of the organization.

I have held several key positions in sales, corporate management and consulting leading to my current position as Vice President of ENA. I have developed expertise in business development, strategic relationships, sales and distribution strategies, and published market-leading industry analysis reports on educational technology topics. I will share this industry-wide comprehensive experience as Board member.

I currently serve as the CoSN Marketing Committee Co-Chair, having gained experience about CoSN operations and objectives that make me an immediately effective Board member. The Committee has been effective in delivering actionable guidance and support to CoSN’s projects.

Finally, ENA is a strong supporter of CoSN and its mission and encourages my increased participation.

Goals
I will work to achieve the following goals:

  • Drive institutional and corporate membership and participation
  • Establish strategic partnerships to facilitate CoSN objectives
  • Increase the value proposition of CoSN membership
