Experience and Educational Background
18 years, classroom technology education teacher. 10 years, IT administrator, K-12 and Higher Education. CoSN member, 4 years Member Cyber-Security Committee, CoSN.

As a prospective member of the CoSN Board of Directors, what do you view as the top three priorities for improving K-12 information technology?

Priority One:
Making technology literacy an educational priority of NCLB's highly qualified staff initiative.

Priority Two:
Advocating continued technology funding on all levels.

Priority Three:
Promote a nationwide priority of connecting rural America through an improved Erate program; continued EETT funding; and distance learning initiatives.

I wish become a member of the CoSN Board of Directors because:
I believe I can be a good representative for K-12 public schools in the organization.

If elected, I bring the following skills to the CoSN Board of Directors:
As a good communicator, I am not shy with sharing ideas and concerns from rural America.

I believe the most important goals for CoSN to achieve as a leading K-12 technology organization are:
Continued advocacy of educational technology and networking of K-12 technology professionals, especially in rural areas.

Candidate Campaign Statement

As a former classroom teacher, and now K-12 administrator, I have over 25 years of public school experience planning, implementing and integrating technology into the curriculum. I am strong believer that technology can be a transformative tool in the classroom to meet the future educational needs of our students, and thus, the mandates of NCLB. Education is increasingly becoming a "just in time" learning environment for all levels and ages of students; and the continuous learner a necessity for societal and entrepreneurial success.
