Polls Are Open — Recognize Tomorrow’s K-12 School Technology Leaders Today

CoSN and EdScoop Urge Education Community to Vote for ‘Next Generation’ of Ed Tech Leaders; Winners to be Revealed at CoSN Conference

Washington, DC (February 2, 2016) – CoSN (the Consortium for School Networking) and EdScoop today opened the polls for the education community to vote for the “next generation” of school technology leaders.  

With 29 finalists from across the country, the new NextGeneration Leaders Program supports emerging K-12 leaders who are committed to advancing technology in education and taking their careers to the next level.

Voting is open to the public and ends Friday, Feb. 19 at midnight. CoSN and EdScoop will reveal the winners at the 2016 Annual Conference in Washington, DC, on Apr. 4.

“To successfully make the digital leap over the long run, school systems must develop future technology leaders. The NextGeneration Leaders Program is dedicated to recognizing the promise of today’s aspiring leaders and building their capacity to advance e-learning cultures,” said Keith Krueger, CEO of CoSN.

Candidates of the NextGeneration Leaders Program met the following criteria:

  • Currently employed by a K-12 school, district or an education service agency;
  • No more than 5 working years of experience as an education technology professional;
  • Demonstrated leadership in schools / districts for which they serve; and
  • Emerging leader is from or serves underrepresented populations (e.g., women, minorities, small, rural, or inner-city schools).

Voters can select a maximum of five candidates.
