Washington, DC (January 17, 2006) – The Consortium for School Networking (CoSN) today announced the CoSN Career Center, a new interactive job board to match employers and recruiters with education technologists from around the country. As the demand for highly qualified candidates and the appreciation of the value of technology in schools grow, the new job board will be a valuable resource for the entire education technology community.
“As someone responsible for the technology decisions of a large public school district, I recognize the challenge of finding qualified candidates to fill mission critical positions,” said Sheryl Abshire, District Administrative Coordinator of Technology for Calcasieu Parish Public Schools in Lake Charles, Louisiana and Chair of the CoSN Board of Directors. “This new career center will be an excellent resource for CoSN members and the entire ed tech community. We are excited to have the opportunity to provide this service.”
Job seekers, who can participate in the service for free regardless of membership status, can track up to 100 jobs and can apply online for available positions at their convenience. With new RSS (Really Simple Syndication) capability, job seekers can also receive notifications of new jobs in real time, without repeated visits and searches on the site.
Employers using the CoSN Career Center can post positions that will be seen by their target audience of education technology industry professionals, reducing the workload when applications arrive. The Center features easy online job management, allowing employers to enter job descriptions, check the status of postings, edit information, renew or discontinue postings and even make payments online. With a paid job listing, employers can search the Center’s database of resumes and proactively contact qualified candidates, and can use an automatic notification system to receive email when new resumes match their chosen criteria.
Member and non-member pricing information for listing jobs is available at careers.cosn.org/rates.cfm. Special introductory pricing discounts are now in effect.
CoSN developed the CoSN Career Center in partnership with Boxwood Technology, Inc., the leading provider of career center services for the association industry.
