CoSN Celebrates A New Beginning: Launch of First State Chapter

Texas K-12 CTO Council

The Texas K-12 CTO Council approached CoSN in the fall of 2003 to propose forming a state-level CTO organization that would exist as a chapter - the very first state chapter - of CoSN. At its June meeting at NECC, the CoSN board approved the creation of a Texas chapter. The Texas K-12 CTO Council met in August to elect inaugural leaders. The chapter is being formally launched at a champagne toast reception at Ed NET on Monday, September 27 at 4:30 PM. CDT.

Texas Chapter Officials:

Ed Zaiontz, Chair
Executive Director, Information Services, Round Rock ISD
Jim Hirsch, Chair-Elect
Associate Superintendent for Technology, Plano ISD
Alice Owen, Secretary
Executive Director of Technology, Irving ISD
Harold Rowe, Treasurer
Associate Superintendent Technology & School Services, Cypress-Fairbanks ISD

CoSN is thrilled at this historic opportunity. Our goal is a collaboration that will promote the success of both organizations. We hope this is the beginning of many state CTO associations forming and choosing to affiliate with CoSN.
