Keynote: Dr. Larry Johnson
Dr. Larry Johnson formerly served as Chief Executive Officer of the New Media Consortium, an international not-for-profit consortium dedicated to understanding the use and applications of technology in education.
Named in 2015 as one of the top 50 influencers of education in the Asia/Pacific region, and actively engaged in Europe and Latin America, Johnson works with visionaries and thought leaders from across the globe to define new ways of thinking about technology and explore emerging trends and issues.
The NMC's 14-year exploration of technology uptake in education, The Horizon Project, informs strategic technology planning for educational institutions in nearly 200 countries.
His keynote address, "In Search of Uncommon Wisdom," will launch an exploration of the road ahead for learning and its surrounding landscape of educational technology.

Privacy Panel

Educators and policymakers are increasingly realizing the potential in using student data to make informed decisions. But even with all that potential, balancing technology advances with the need to protect student privacy and data is a major challenge. Privacy experts will discuss CoSN’s newest privacy initiative is the Trusted Learning Environment (TLE) Seal. This initiative allows school system leaders from across the country to communicate their privacy efforts to parents, communities, and other stakeholders while ensuring that the school system is adhering to best practices and taking steps in the right direction.
