Digital Learning Spaces 2010
October 5, 2005 Learning Spaces 2010 is the latest report out of the CoSN Emerging Technologies Committee. The report describes three very different future learning spaces, all of which will likely exist just five years from now. This webcast will address what school district technology decision makers need to know in order to prepare their schools to be able accommodate these various high-tech learning scenarios which include the rapid proliferation of portable smart devices and bandwidth intensive applications. Technology decision makers will gain a better understanding of which technologies will likely be common place, as well as the infrastructure and policies which must be established in order to enable these learning spaces within the next 5 years.

K-12 CTO Essential Skill Correlation: Ethics & Policies Creating a Customer-Centric District Technology Team
RESCHEDULED: January 11, 2006 School district technology teams are faced with increasing demands as technology use continues to grow. Increasingly complex technologies paired with mission critical applications challenge technology support teams, which rarely grow as quickly as the need might dictate. Add to the mix an end-user base ranges from pre-K to adult, as well as several distinct user populations, and even well-staffed and trained technology teams can find meeting support needs in a timely, effective manner to be immensely challenging. Hear from technology leaders from large and small school districts how they have focused their teams' efforts on providing outstanding customer service. Learn practical tips which can be implemented in any school district to help you provide the support that students, teachers, support staff and administrators need.
K-12 CTO Essential Skill Correlation: Team Building & Staffing Measuring the VALUE of Education Technology
January 18, 2006 With proper diligence, implementation and ongoing costs of proposed technology initiatives can be estimated, as can the associated savings in terms of reduced expenditures and staff productivity. However, this return on investment (ROI) approach falls short when the anticipated value of proposed projects is aligned with more qualitative elements of the school’s mission. In this webcast, we will discuss the importance of aligning the value of technology projects, including one-to-one student computing, with school/district goals and will identify some of these areas of value.
K-12 CTO Essential Skill Correlation: Planning & Budgeting; Business Leadership Open Technologies
April 19, 2006 As school budgets become tighter each year, teachers and administrators look for ways to stretch dollars and keep cuts from affecting students' classroom learning environments. Increasingly, school tech leaders are weighing the hefty license fees associated with operating systems, software applications and instructional content against a growing number of open source alternatives. This webcast will be centered around three primary areas: open source operating systems, open source software applications and open source content libraries.

May 17, 2006 In school districts where collaboration between IT and AT leaders is the norm, we see important results:
Shared vision and collaborative leadership are the catalysts that lead to these results. Webcast panelists from school districts and regional education departments will share their insight and experience. Participants will leave the webcast with concrete steps they can take to start a "new conversation" that will build strong and positive relationships between K-12 school district technology leaders and special education leaders. Panelists will discuss steps they have taken to integrate technology resources across traditional boundaries, ranging from early steps to fully collaborative efforts. Most importantly, panelists will share the results of these efforts: better relationships across school divisions, more efficient use of technology resources and improved student achievement.
