Turning Tech Novices Into Building-Level Champtions

Description In June, 2010, a group of CTOs and other K-12 technology leaders came together at the ISTE 2010 conference to discuss the role of building-level administrators in effective technology implementation in schools. During this CoSN-sponsored CTO Forum, participants explored questions such as: How can district-level technology leaders help building administrators—even those who don’t see themselves as tech savvy—to become “players in the game”? How does one create a school climate in which principals and other school administrators lead the way with technology?  This report details key takeaways from the Forum, including challenges that prevent administrators from taking an ed tech leadership role and solutions to tackle those obstacles.
