CoSN Rebrands with New Website, Logo

New Tagline of ‘Leading Education Innovation’ Highlights CoSN’s 20+ Years of Leadership

Washington, DC (September 5, 2013) – As the 2013-2014 school year kicks off for many districts across the country this week, the Consortium for School Networking (CoSN) today unveiled its new website and logo, part of a rebranding effort highlighting its more than two decades of leadership in advancing education technology. The website – – is designed to serve as the chief innovative hub for CoSN’s ever-growing suite of advocacy and technology leadership resources, initiatives and activities. Both the website and logo were refreshed to spotlight the association’s new tagline, “Leading Education Innovation,” and organized around “CoSN’s Framework of Essential Skills of the K-12 CTO.” To accompany today’s announcement, CoSN also posted the Vine.

“Since 1992, CoSN has been leading education innovation and empowering school district technology leaders to harness the power of technology to transform K-12 learning environments. We have developed high-quality thought-leadership resources, increased the skills of CTOs, and built a professional community for education technology leaders,” said Keith Krueger, CEO of CoSN. “As part of our strategic vision, we have refreshed our brand, including relaunching a resource-rich CoSN website that provides the tools needed to navigate and succeed in today’s innovative ed tech landscape.”

The new website is structured around CoSN’s core mission and activities, which include:  

  • Strategy and Advocacy – CoSN’s mission, strategic plan, membership, policy efforts, corporate sponsorship and partnership, among others;
  • Certified Education Technology Leader (CETL)™ – Certification tips and resources and exam schedules;
  • Events – Annual Conference, Webinars, Chief Technology Officer Clinics, Chief Technology Officer Forums, Teaming for Transformation, among others;
  • Focus Areas – CoSN’s Framework of Essential Skills, including Leadership and Vision, Instructional Focus and IT Management; and
  • Blog – Insights from CoSN, school leaders and industry experts.

The new website will be updated regularly with CoSN announcements and related news, upcoming event information, featured reports, photos and tweets in real-time.

This summer, CoSN conducted a survey of members and found that 91 percent of members were satisfied with the association’s resources and services. In addition, according to leading media firm C. Blohm & Associates, over the past year CoSN garnered more than 110 million media impressions – a 50 percent increase from last year.
