K-12 Education Technology Leader Certification Grows in Support
Washington, DC (September 8, 2015) – CoSN's (the Consortium for School Networking’s) Certified Education Technology Leader (CETL)® program continues to grow in support with new underwriting by the Morgridge Family Foundation and renewed support by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
Introduced three years ago, CETL® recognition has been designated to 185 district technology leaders across 26 states.
The CETL® is the world’s first aspirational certification for school system technology leaders. Technology leaders who are CETL® certified demonstrate to their staff, administrations, and communities that they have the expertise and vision to build transformative learning environments. The full list of CETLs is available here.
“This program illuminates the varying disciplines within schools districts that have the power to transform the learning environment for students and teachers. We are pleased to partner with CoSN and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to expand the number of leaders committed to the highest standards of instruction,” stated Carrie Morgridge, Vice President of the Morgridge Family Foundation.
“CoSN’s highest strategic priority is to build the human capacity of education leaders to use technology to transform learning. The CETL® certification is at the heart of that effort. In only three years, we have come so far,” said Keith Krueger, CEO of CoSN. “We are tremendously grateful for the Gates Foundation and the Morgridge Family Foundation’s support and dedication to the critical advancement of school technology leaders nationwide.”
