Are you a CTO that's new to the role or know someone who is? Be sure to read this!

In CoSN's newest Podcast, I discussed my experience with the Early Career K-12 CTO Academy. I am a graduate of the 2020-21 Academy cohort. We discussed my experience, including the benefits of being paired with a veteran mentor, the connection and collaboration among cohort members, my Capstone project, and why I'd recommend the program to others in my position. DEI Scholarship Opportunity: The CTO Academy has five Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Academy Scholarships available for CTOs from underrepresented populations in the education technology community. As part of the application process, you may request to be considered for one of these scholarships.  Thank you to CoSN's Gold Partner, HP, for their generous support.

What’s the CoSN Early Career CTO Academy? Here are some specifics. It’s a program designed to address the needs of education technology leaders who have fewer than four years of experience in their position. During this nine-month-long professional learning opportunity, every cohort member is paired with a thought partner/mentor, a seasoned professional with at least five years of CTO experience that matches the participant's specific needs. Skills such as creating a culture of innovation, building diverse teams that include underrepresented populations in the edtech industry, supporting student-centered learning and technology budgeting are developed through a blended online curriculum, virtual meetings, and a face-to-face capstone experience.

The application deadline for the upcoming cohort is Wednesday, September 1, and the program will run from October 2021 - June 2022.  Learn more about the Early Career K-12 CTO Academy here: https://www.cosn.org/TheAcademy
