SUMMARY:Early Career K-12 CTO Academy 2022-2023 Application Window
DESCRIPTION:The Early Career K-12 CTO Academy application window is open.\nThe Early Career K-12 CTO Academy is a program to address the needs of education technology leaders who are new (less than 4 full years) to their CTO or Technology Leadership position or aspiring CTOs and Technology Leaders currently working in a technology department.. Participants will have the opportunity to develop edtech leadership skills\, including; managing diverse teams\, leading a variety of projects simultaneously\, and collaborating with a variety of stakeholders. Academy participants make a positive impact on student-centered and digital learning in their school district and enhance their career trajectory. \nThis program was developed through public and private sector leaders and district CTOs to address current professional development needs and thought partner support for early-career CTO’s.\nCoSN’s Early Career K-12 CTO Academy prepares new technology directors with fewer than four full years of experience to: \n-Lead the creation of a culture of innovation in their school district\n-Build a Professional Learning Network (PLN) of edtech experts and other new CTOs through face-to-face and virtual meetings\n-Understand best practices to build diverse teams that include under-represented populations in the edtech industry including\, African Americans\, Latin\, and Native Americans\, Pacific-Islanders\, and females.\n-Benefit from the experience of veteran tech and curriculum leaders in the areas of supporting student-centered learning\, technology budgeting\, technical support strategies\, infrastructure\, effective strategies for communications\, and more\n-Be part of discussions centered around new strategies for meeting the needs of diverse learners\n-Improve the soft skills necessary to work effectively with others in the culture-specific to their school district \nThe program runs from October 2022- June 2023\nApplication due September 1st  \nProgram Fee $2\,599 (Possible scholarships available.)\nThe program fee will be invoiced upon acceptance. Fees include program\, thought partner/mentor\, and materials. While the registration fee for the CoSN Conference is complimentary\, participants are responsible for travel to the workshop and both travel and lodging for the CoSN Conference.

He is an inspiring leader who has transformed information systems departments to deliver leading-edge solutions\, and to elevate the value of IT for the entire organisation. \nMark has served on several boards in the higher education sector including EDUCAUSE\, CUCCIO\, BCNET\, and SRNET. He has also run a successful IT strategy consulting firm specialising in higher education clients. \nPrior to joining Info-Tech\, Mark led an organization of over 400 IT staff and successfully served a stakeholder community of 250\,000 people. He has administered large-scale operating and capital budgets and has transformed the full suite of core applications to new ERP systems on time\, on budget\, and within scope. He has delivered strategic information security changes that pushed the external security rating of the institution up by 130% in less than 4 months\, improved the overall client satisfaction with information systems organisation by nearly 20% and increased the perceived value of IT to the organization by over 20%\, built a national research computing data centre (16th most green data centre in the world)\, and implemented and the largest university supercomputer cluster in Canada (Top 100 in the world). Mark is most proud that he crafted a diverse\, equitable\, and inclusive culture creating one of the best higher IT teams in Canada. \nMark has an MBA from Queen’s University\, a B.Math (Computer Science) from the University of Waterloo\, and he is a Project Management Professional.
