SUMMARY:Trusted Learning Environment (TLE) Application Online Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Want to apply for the Trusted Learning Environment Seal but don’t want to go it alone? Join your peers and collaborate to improve your practices and complete your application. Each month\, we’ll review a TLE practice area\, leverage the ideas and learnings of colleagues\, and develop action steps to make progress on your TLE application. Take advantage of the ability to learn directly from TLE Seal recipient guest speakers\, get access to data governance policy examples\, and hear tips from those who have successfully gone through the process. If you’re committed to going through the TLE application process but your state doesn’t already have a TLE cohort\, this is the place for you. \nParticipants will: \n\nMake monthly progress on their TLE applications\nLearn directly from TLE Seal recipients\nCreate a roadmap for completing their TLE application\n\nThere is no cost to participate in the TLE Workshop\, however\, as part of the pre-work to sign up\, participants must have purchased their TLE Seal application and be committed to submitting it within 2 years of completing the Workshop. \nTLE Seal Application costs:\n$100 small district CoSN members/$200 small district non-members\n$200 large district CoSN members/$400 large district non-members. \nEach district may enroll 2 participants per Workshop\, and a total of 10 districts will be permitted for each session that the Workshop is offered.

SUMMARY:Application Window Open: CTO Academy for K-12 Early Career and Aspiring CTOs 2023-24 Cohort Deadline Extended to 9/9 midnight
DESCRIPTION:The CTO Academy For K-12 Early Career and Aspiring CTOs is a program to address the needs of education technology leaders who are new (less than four full years) to their CTO or Technology Leadership position or aspiring CTOs and EdTech leaders currently working in a technology department. Participants will have the opportunity to develop edtech leadership skills including; managing diverse teams\, leading a variety of projects simultaneously\, and collaborating with a variety of stakeholders. Academy participants make a positive impact on student-centered and digital learning in their school district and enhance their career trajectory. \n \nThe program extends from October 1- June 1\, 2025. \n\nThis program was developed through public and private sector leaders\, district CTOs and edtech leaders to address current professional development needs and thought partner support for aspiring and early-career CTO and EdTech leaders. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nIf you have any questions\, please email:\nJill Brown\, jbrown@cosn.org CoSN Director of Professional Learning \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBENEFITS:\nParticipants in CoSN’s CTO Academy For K-12 Early Career and Aspiring CTOs will benefit from a blended learning model consisting of:\nMentorship – a thought partner/mentor to match your specific needs that is a seasoned professional with at least 5 years that extends from October 1- June 1\, 2025.\nTwo virtual events per month that include deep-dive discussions and practical content and activities.\nMonthly “News You Can Use”.\nCapstone project (select projects will be featured at the CoSN2025 Conference)\nA private online community consisting of past and current cohort members and mentors.\nRegistration for CoSN2025.\nA face-to-face event at the CoSN2025 Conference.\n\nELIGIBILITY AND TIMELINE:\nNew career K-12 chief technology officers (CTOs) and technology leaders with fewer than 4 years of experience or aspiring technology leaders who are already working in a technology department at a school are invited to apply.\nThe application deadline is EXTENDED TO September 9th\, 2024\, at midnight EST.\nRegistration Fee: $2\,599* members. This program is open only to individuals from CoSN member school systems.\nMore information on joining CoSN is here: https://www.cosn.org/membership-overview/cosn-membership-application/\nThe registration fee will be invoiced upon acceptance. Fees include program\, materials\, and registration for the COSN 2025 Conference. Participants are responsible for travel and lodging for the COSN Conference. \n*Note this fee is proposed to increase to $3\,999 for the 25-26 cohort.\n\nSCHOLARSHIPS:\nWe hope there will be 3-6 Diversity\, Equity\, and Inclusion Academy Scholarships available for CTOs from different populations in the education technology community.
