SUMMARY:The Intersection of Data Privacy and Cybersecurity Facilitated Online Course Fall 2025
DESCRIPTION:Educators\, students\, and parents are now benefiting from the exciting opportunities available as a result of new instructional technologies\, including cloud-based technology services and mobile applications. These technologies enable rich\, data-powered classroom experiences and the anytime\, anywhere learning that education technologists and educators have envisioned for many years. However\, as schools turn to cloud services for applications\, content and data analytics\, and online assessment\, keeping students’ data private and secure becomes more difficult. This course is designed for school district leaders who need help in understanding existing privacy laws\, defining best and necessary practices around privacy\, and communicating effectively with their communities. Syllabus \nParticipants successfully completing the course will receive a Certificate of Completion\, earn 10 CEA Credits toward CETL® recertification\, and have access to the course materials for one full year. \nThis course meets online every *Tuesday from 12:00 PM-1:00 PM ET Sept 16th-Nov 18th\, 2025\n*Sessions are recorded if you are unable to attend on a particular day.\nParticipants may register after Sept 16th and begin the class Sept 23rd.
