DESCRIPTION:CoSN’s Framework of Essential Skills of the K-12 CTO is comprised of three primary professional categories in the education technology field: Leadership & Vision\, Understanding the Educational Environment\, and Managing Technology & Support Resources. Each of these categories includes 10 essential skill areas\, outlining the responsibilities and knowledge needed to be a viable educational technology leader. Each of these skills and the related knowledge needed to demonstrate them are included in CoSN’s Certified Education Technology Leader (CETL®) certification exam. \nThis course meets online every *Tuesday from Oct 6th – Dec 15th\, 2025\, from 4:00- 5:30 PM ET. \n10/6 Introduction\n10/13 Skill Area 1: Leadership and Vision\n10/20 Skill Area 2: Strategic Planning\n10/27 Skill Area 3: Ethics and Policies\n11/3 Skill Area 4: Instructional Focus and Professional Development\n11/10 Skill Area 5: Team Building and Staffing\n11/17 Skill Area 6: Information Technology Management\n11/24 Skill Area 7: Communication Systems Management\n12/1 Skill Area 8: Business Management\n12/8 Skill Area 9: Data Management\n12/15 Skill Area 10: Data Privacy and Security \nOur subject matter experts and instructors regularly update this course with current information. DESCRIPTION:Building and strengthening cybersecurity in a district requires both a solid security plan and an effective incident response plan.
