And since the role of every educator is to prepare each student to thrive in their future\, AI is a critical part of leading and teaching in schools today. \nIn this edLeader Panel\, three leading-edge superintendents are joined in conversation with CoSN’s AI Project Director. Together\, they will share what they have each come to learn about AI over the past few years. They will describe effective processes and policies for using AI appropriately for teaching and learning\, as well as for multiple other school leadership functions. An overview of CoSN’s free AI resources with links to access them will be shared. \nAttendees of the live broadcast will have the opportunity to pose questions to the panel. SUMMARY:What Systems + AI Actually Enable Powerful K-12 Learning Designs (and Which Quietly Block Them) Webinar
DESCRIPTION:AI can make learning easier—but should it? If AI simplifies access to information\, explanations\, tutoring\, and test prep\, what should learning demand more of from students and teachers? \nIn this thought-provoking webinar\, leaders from Stanford’s Digital Media Academy and CoSN leaders explore how district systems and AI design choices can either raise expectations or quietly limit powerful learning. Looking back at 2025\, one lesson is clear: so-called “soft skills” like deep reading\, collaboration\, mentorship\, self-regulation\, and independent thinking have become hard requirements. \nListen to examine: \n\nHow AI can shift learning from busywork to problem-solving\, creativity\, and critical thinking\nWhy collaborative AI tools matter as much as individual support\nHow interfaces\, agents\, and dashboards shape engagement beyond the chatbot\nWhere trust\, ethics\, and transparency must guide system-level decisions\n\nThis session is for district leaders who want AI to amplify meaningful learning—not just automate it. \nPresenters: \n \nStacy Hawthorne\, Ed.D.\, CETL®\, CoSN Board Chair\, Chief Academic Officer\, Learn21 (OH) \n\nRichard Charles\, Ph.D.\, GSP\, Chief Information Officer\, Denver Public Schools (CO) \n\nGlenn Fajardo\, Chief Learning Officer\, Digital Media Academy (CA) \n\nJohn C Mitchell\, Ph.D.\, Professor of Computer Science\, Stanford (CA) \n  \nAll registered attendees will receive a recording of the webinar. \nAll live attendees will receive a certificate that lists your name (as it appears in our database)\, the event title\, the month and year\, and the Continuing Education Activity (CEA) credits earned. The recording link will include instructions on how to earn a certificate after watching the recorded session.

SUMMARY:Unlocking Value of Investment (VOI) and Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) for EdTech Leaders Webinar
DESCRIPTION:EdTech value doesn’t speak for itself. Leaders do. \nK–12 districts are investing millions in education technology—but too often\, the story behind those investments gets lost. Data lives in spreadsheets. Impact is felt in classrooms. And leaders are left trying to connect the dots for boards\, families\, and communities. \nThis webinar is designed for the leaders who have to tell that story clearly\, confidently\, and credibly. \nJoin a team of experienced K–12 EdTech leaders as they unpack how to translate complex metrics—ROI\, TCO\, and Value of Investment—into a narrative that decision-makers understand and trust. You’ll learn how to connect technology investments to instructional impact\, equity\, efficiency\, and student outcomes\, and how to communicate that value in ways that resonate beyond the IT department. \nThis session goes beyond calculations.
