There\, he’s led the development of an innovative instructional philosophy around personalized learning experiences focused on career pathways\, early college credit\, and industry credentials that enable students to discover their futures while still in high school. Dr. Schuler earned his bachelor’s degree from Carroll University and his master’s and doctoral degrees from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. \n\nDr. Carol L. Kelley is Superintendent of Princeton Public Schools in New Jersey. Before joining Princeton Public Schools\, Dr. Kelley spent six years as Superintendent of Oak Park Elementary School District 97 in Illinois. Prior to her time in Illinois\, Dr. Kelley served three years as Superintendent in the Branchburg Township School District in New Jersey. She has also held teacher\, administrator and superintendent positions in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. \nDr. Kelley’s career is guided by her deep commitment to equity-centered systems change to address racial\, economic\, and academic disparities in education. She is a thought leader and speaker for several organizations and has received recognition for her professional work and contributions to education from various organizations and groups\, including the West Cook County\, Illinois\, Distinguished Superintendent of the Year and the prestigious Governor’s Teacher award from the state of New Jersey. \n\nMatt Miller is Superintendent of Lakota Local Schools (OH). Academy participants make a positive impact on student-centered and digital learning in their school district and enhance their career trajectory. \nThis program was developed through public and private sector leaders and district CTOs to address current professional development needs and thought partner support for early-career CTO’s.\nCoSN’s Early Career K-12 CTO Academy prepares new technology directors with fewer than four full years of experience to: \n-Lead the creation of a culture of innovation in their school district\n-Build a Professional Learning Network (PLN) of edtech experts and other new CTOs through face-to-face and virtual meetings\n-Understand best practices to build diverse teams that include under-represented populations in the edtech industry including\, African Americans\, Latin\, and Native Americans\, Pacific-Islanders\, and females.\n-Benefit from the experience of veteran tech and curriculum leaders in the areas of supporting student-centered learning\, technology budgeting\, technical support strategies\, infrastructure\, effective strategies for communications\, and more\n-Be part of discussions centered around new strategies for meeting the needs of diverse learners\n-Improve the soft skills necessary to work effectively with others in the culture-specific to their school district \nThe program runs from October 2022- June 2023\nApplication due September 1st  \nProgram Fee $2\,599 (Possible scholarships available.)\nThe program fee will be invoiced upon acceptance. A lifelong native of Louisa County\, Doug has served in a multitude of roles for his hometown school division\, including as a teacher\, coach\, assistant principal\, principal\, athletics director\, assistant superintendent\, and now superintendent. \nAs the superintendent\, Doug has worked to create a positive\, team-centered culture throughout Louisa County Public Schools\, and in 2018\, he received the Most Spirited Superintendent Award from the nationally recognized company\, Varsity Brands. In 2020\, Doug was named Region Superintendent of the Year. Under his leadership\, LCPS works as a team to fulfill its mission of helping every student reach his or her maximum potential. Doug lives in Louisa with his wife\, Kate\, who teaches at Louisa County Middle School. He has six children\, all of whom have attended—or are currently attending—Louisa County Public Schools. \nDavid Childress is the director of technology at Louisa County Public Schools. He has over 25 years’ experience working in technology. Under his leadership\, his district innovated solar-powered wireless internet mobile stations that were built by students and provide free Wi-Fi to the community. He has also worked on districtwide solar projects that will save the district $6 million over the next 30 years. \n\nKenny Bouwens is originally from Upstate New York and holds a bachelor’s and a master’s degree from SUNY Oswego in the area of technology and engineering education. He started his teaching career in Virginia back in 2010 and spent seven years in the classroom. In 2017\, Kenny was honored as the Virginia Teacher of the Year for Technology and Engineering Education. After completing the Educational Leadership program at James Madison University\, he was hired in Louisa County as the director of career and technical education\, STEAM and innovation. Kenny is passionate about innovation and providing quality education for all students in Louisa County. \n\nKeith R. Krueger is CEO of the Consortium for School Networking (CoSN)\, a nonprofit organization that serves as the voice of K-12 school system technology leaders in North America. CoSN’s mission is empowering educational leaders to leverage technology to realize engaging learning environments. He is the current chair of the Learning First Alliance and is on the Executive Committee of the National Coalition for Technology in Education & Training (NCTET). He serves on many advisory boards including the Friday Institute at NC State University\, the Public Policy Advisory Council for the American Library Association\, EdTech Digest\, and previously\, the Education Committee of the National Park System. He is Principal Investigator of the Driving K-12 Innovation series. DESCRIPTION:Want to apply for the Trusted Learning Environment Seal but don’t want to go it alone? Join your peers and collaborate to improve your practices and complete your application. Each month\, we’ll review a TLE practice area\, leverage the ideas and learnings of colleagues\, and develop action steps to make progress on your TLE application. Take advantage of the ability to learn directly from TLE Seal recipient guest speakers\, get access to data governance policy examples\, and hear tips from those who have successfully gone through the process. If you’re committed to going through the TLE application process but your state doesn’t already have a TLE cohort\, this is the place for you. \nParticipants will: \n\nMake monthly progress on their TLE applications\nLearn directly from TLE Seal recipients\nCreate a roadmap for completing their TLE application\n\nThere is no cost to participate in the TLE Workshop\, however\, as part of the pre-work to sign up\, participants must have purchased their TLE Seal application and be committed to submitting it within 2 years of completing the Workshop. \nTLE Seal Application costs:\n$100 small district CoSN members/$200 small district non-members\n$200 large district CoSN members/$400 large district non-members. \nEach district may enroll 2 participants per Workshop\, and a total of 10 districts will be permitted for each session that the Workshop is offered.
