CoSN Cybersecurity Rubric Sidekick
Access the official, macro-enabled Google Sheets template integrated with the Cybersecurity Rubric Sidekick. This workspace helps K–12 education leaders run evidence-based coaching, track conservative maturity scoring, and generate targeted gap remediation plans.
First-Time Setup Instructions:
- Click the "Make a Copy of Template" button below to save it directly to your Google Drive.
- Once open, look at the top menu bar and click on Cybersecurity Rubric, then select Open Sidekick Panel.
- First-Time Authorization: Because this script links directly to the secure Google Gemini API, Google will ask for permission the first time you run it. Click Continue, select your active Google Account, click the small Advanced link at the bottom, and click the link to proceed and allow access.
- Approve the Sidekick, See important guidelines below.
- Click Open Sidekick Panel once more from the custom menu to launch your interactive coach pane.
🛡️ Security & Privacy Reassurance
Don't be concerned if Google displays an "Unverified app" warning or an "(unsafe)" link. This is expected for a private Google Apps Script that you copied into your own Google Workspace. The Sidekick runs within your Google Drive and is not publicly verified by Google.
After clicking Advanced and Go to Cybersecurity Rubric Sidekick (unsafe), you'll see the permissions screen.
Check all three permissions:
☑ See, edit, create, and delete your Google Sheets spreadsheets – Allows the Sidekick to read, update, and save your rubric.
☑ Connect to an external service – Allows secure communication with the AI service.
☑ Display and run third-party web content in Google applications – Allows the Sidekick sidebar to run in Google Sheets.
Click Continue (or Allow, depending on your Google Workspace version).
Privacy: The Sidekick only accesses the spreadsheets you use with it. Your data remains in your organization's Google Workspace.
