CoSN could not accomplish its mission without our amazing volunteers. Volunteers contribute to CoSN on committees, leadership and initiative advisory panels, state chapter boards, and more. The Volunteer of the Year Award recognizes the achievements of one CoSN member who has provided exemplary support to the organization over the past year. In addition, we honor several of our volunteers with induction into the CoSN Volunteer Hall of Fame each year.

Thank you to our award sponsor, AT&T.

Eligibility

All CoSN members who have served as volunteers are eligible for this award. The winner is selected by CoSN leadership with consideration from committee chair recommendations.

Rod Russeau, Director of Technology & Information Services at District 99 in Downers Grove (IL)

A Midwest education leader who has been working in education technology for decades giving his time and expertise to our community, especially on addressing cybersecurity threats in K-12.  In addition to being a CETL, he has an alphabet of certifications demonstrating his expertise and commitment to life-long learning.  Whenever we ask who can help us with a new resource or speak at a conference or answer a media inquiry on the latest cybersecurity attack, Rod Russeau is there.  He is retiring at the end of this school year. Congratulations and thank you for your support!

How to Apply

There is no formal nomination process, but if you know an exceptional volunteer, please email us at membership@cosn.org.
