K–12 districts are being forced into a false-choice conversation about “screen time” that lumps passive social media consumption together with purposeful, research-informed educational technology. School leaders deserve a more nuanced, and far more honest, conversation.

This collaborative, facilitated summit brings together national experts and forward-thinking district leaders from across the country to help communities move from digital fear to digital trust. Together, participants will explore how to communicate the difference between distraction and meaningful learning, streamline district technology practices, and build stronger community understanding around the role of purposeful technology in modern education.

Attendees will leave with practical strategies, peer-tested ideas, and an advocacy toolkit designed to help educate families, school boards, and policymakers at both the state and federal levels. Most importantly, participants will develop a proactive storytelling framework that reframes classroom technology around purposeful learning, student opportunity, local decision-making, and student well-being—because powerful learning is defined by intentional design, not screen presence.

This workshop meets online on Tuesdays from 2:00 – 3:00 PM ET on the following dates:
• September 15th, 2026
• September 22nd, 2026
• September 29th, 2026

Sessions are recorded if you are unable to make an individual session.

You are eligible for 5 CEA hours for CETL® recertification and district professional learning needs by completing 3 hours of live sessions and 2 hours of independent offline work. If a school emergency arises and you miss a session, you are expected to watch the recording and notify the instructor. Certificates will be issued once the instructor verifies final participation at the conclusion of the workshop.
