Established in 1994, the South Carolina Association for Educational Technology (SCAET) is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization committed to transforming learning environments in South Carolina by offering collaborative support for the integration of evolving educational technology. As well as professional development for K-12 community Instructional and Information Technology leaders.

SCAET’s purposes are:

  • to promote the innovative, intelligent, and responsible use of technology in the innovative enhancement of education, PK-12 and beyond, in South Carolina.
  • To organize and produce the annual South Carolina Educational Technology (SC EdTech) Conference which connects educators, tech leaders, and groundbreaking solutions to transform learning environments.
  • To establish and/or support other statewide forums for sharing ideas, information, and resources in the use of educational technology.

On February 26, 2026, the Consortium for School Networking (CoSN), approved SCAET’s request to establish a new CoSN State Chapter. The establishment of the SC CoSN Chapter symbolizes a shared mission to advance education through the effective and innovative use of technology.
