CoSN’s Framework of Essential Skills of the K-12 CTO is comprised of three primary professional categories in the education technology field: Leadership & Vision, Understanding the Educational Environment, and Managing Technology & Support Resources.  Each of these categories includes 10 essential skill areas, outlining the responsibilities and knowledge needed to be a viable educational technology leader. Each of these skills and the related knowledge needed to demonstrate them are included in CoSN’s Certified Education Technology Leader (CETL®) certification exam.

This course meets online every *Tuesday from Jan 20th to March 31st, 2025, from 2:00- 3:00 PM ET.
*Sessions are recorded if you are unable to make an individual session.

Participants successfully completing the course will receive a Certificate of Completion, earn 9 CEA Credits toward CETL® recertification, and have access to the course materials for one full year.

All CoSN Professional Learning opportunities are independent of the CETL®  certification program, which requires a separate application. The CETL®  program is governed by the CETL®  Certification Governance Committee, an independent certifying body of CoSN. In adherence to best practices for certifying bodies, CETL®  Certification Governance Committee volunteers and CETL®  Certification staff are not involved in the development of any preparatory program, and no preparatory program is endorsed by the CETL®  Certification Governance Committee nor is a prerequisite to earn the CETL®. The CETL®  Certification Governance Committee and its staff are solely responsible for the policies and administration of the CETL® program, including application deadlines and qualification requirements.
