CoSN (the Consortium for School Networking) today launched a new online course on the evolving cybersecurity threats in schools.

Designed for school system technology professionals, the course is offered at a time when cyber threats have become persistent and destructive. The class is the latest in CoSN’s suite of online course offerings that cover key education technology topics and opportunities.

“Security is every educator’s job in schools today. No longer are bad actors just infiltrating our systems. They are going and staying in to gather as much information and access as possible,” said Keith Krueger, CEO of CoSN. “The course is designed to help school technology professionals better understand the landscape and threats so they can strengthen their efforts.”

Structured for a self-paced experience, the course is open to all educators. The course comprises the following three modules: Network Security, Risks and Controls, as well as Vulnerabilities and Mitigation. Once completed, the course’s modules conclude with an objective assessment composed of several questions. Interested participants can view and sign up for the course here
