CoSN today announced the innovative speakers headlining its 2020 Annual Conference, March 16-18 in Washington, D.C.
 
Themed Breakthrough Mindsets: Leading Meaningful Change, the global conference will explore how edtech professionals can transform school systems and improve student outcomes by breaking existing mindsets and leading the adoption of new technologies. Non-media attendees can take advantage of early-bird rates by registering before December 18.
 
 
 
“Today’s world increasingly revolves around rapid advancements in technology. The 2020 CoSN Conference will highlight how education leaders can utilize new technologies, such as artificial intelligence, to create innovative teaching and learning opportunities and streamline district operations. We are thrilled to host a forum for edtech experts from around the world to examine the best ways to lead school systems through this time of monumental change and into the future,” said Steve Langford, Co-Chair of the 2020 Conference and Chief Information Officer, Beaverton School District (OR).
 
The 2020 Conference will showcase remarks from three unique general session speakers:
 
  • On Monday, March 16, the Opening General Session will focus on Ensuring That Technology Enables Learning Rather Than Distracts from It, and feature a fascinating discussion with: James Williams, Philosophy and Ethics Researcher & Doctoral Candidate, Oxford Internet Institute & Balliol College.
 
  • On Tuesday, March 17, attendees can glean new insights from one of their own during the Lead Where You Are General Session with: Dr. Joe Sanfelippo, Superintendent, Fall Creek School District (WI).
 
  • On Wednesday, March 18, the Closing General Session will examine Building Technology from the Human Out, with remarks from expert innovator: Amber Case, Cyborg Anthropologist and Author of Calm Technology: Principles and Patterns for Non-Intrusive Design.
 
The three-day conference will include a Global Symposium entitled “Sparking a K-12 Innovation Conversation: Moving from Global to Local Trends.” Also returning this year are CoSN’s @InnovationCentral expo, Large District Summit and CoSN Camp®, as well as interactive sessions on topics ranging from CTO skills and data privacy practices to eSports and digital equity.
