Subject Matter Expert

 

As a former K-12 CTO for 25+ years, Frankie has worked as an assistant superintendent and CTO for one of the largest K-12 school districts in the nation. She led teams of 150+ technology professionals with 116,000+ students and 100+ school sites in all facets of education technology systems and services while transforming a $1.2 billion school system upgrade and building one of the largest, nationally recognized networks. She serves on CoSN’s policy committee, CoSN’s advisory board for driving K-12 innovation, CoSN’s advanced professional development committee, and CoSN’s cybersecurity committee. Additionally, she serves as a facilitator for CoSN’s IT project management for school systems leaders’ course and CoSN’s Certified Education Technology Leader (CETL) program.

As CoSN’s project director for the Verizon Innovative Learning Schools (VILS) program and Large District Great Minds series, she is passionate about providing strategic thought leadership to inspire innovation in the K-12 EdTech ecosystem.
Frankie also works as the Director of Strategic Initiatives for Texas Education Technology Leaders (TETL), a CoSN state chapter. She serves the Association for School Business Officials (ASBO) and Texas ASBO (TASBO), as a subject matter expert, mentor, and chair of the Information Technology certification programs.

Working as an independent K-12 CTO, Frankie’s unique blend of expertise includes the Baldrige examiner quality program, CoSN’s CETL program, ITIL service management, APQC best practices, ASBO and TASBO certification strand, John Maxwell certified coach and mentor, and most recent, the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Cybersecurity Practitioner certification.
