The inpouring of funding from the federal, state, and local levels, such as CARES, ESSER, CRRSA, and ARP, provided school districts with emergency relief funds to address the impact of COVID-19 on education. During the recent pandemic, school districts used the much-needed funding to purchase devices, including laptops, tablets, Chromebooks, and hotspots for students and staff, integrate educational software into classroom curricula and build a robust network infrastructure for remote, hybrid, and in-person learning. However, school boards, Superintendents, and CTOs now face the long-term implications associated with the limited time funding source that does not support the long-term needs of a comprehensive technology program.
