Google Analytics provides information on visitors to a website or app, including the number of unique and repeat visitors, referring sites, most frequent pages visited, what browser a visitor is using, ISP speed, and average time spent on a site or app. For a school, this information can be useful in a variety of ways. Browser and mobile device data can inform a decision to shift to a mobile-first strategy or (along with ISP speed) indicate requirements when adopting educational technologies, or the need to support more options for equity in home connectivity. Site visit data can be useful in understanding the effectiveness of a district’s communication strategy, at a division, program or school level.
